About

So, who is Charity Wachira?

I'm a product designer based in Berlin, Germany. I'm a curious one, my curiosity doesn't stop at solving a problem, it goes deeper into why the problem exists in the first place. Is it a one-off issue, or a symptom of something deeper that will keep resurfacing? And does fixing it just create a new problem somewhere else? I like sitting with those questions and looking at things from more than one angle before I decide what to build. That same curiosity is what pushes me to take design to its boundaries, from audiovisual installations to AI and VR design, to data design, product design, and website design. It's also why I don't stay inside the usual designer toolkit. Alongside Figma, I'm just as likely to be building with Claude Code or Cursor, picking up new ways to solve a problem I haven't solved before.

ETC Solutions GmbH

Product Designer · Werkstudent, Berlin

Supporting the design of driver-and-operational software for a Berlin-based mobility technology company building digital systems for public transport. Redesigned DatNet's driver-facing mobile app so drivers can start and close shifts, log incidents in real time, and message the control center directly, replacing a slower, disconnected reporting process. Designed the Betriebslagebericht (Operational Status Report), a control center dashboard giving dispatchers a live view to track, prioritize, and resolve incidents across BVG Berlin's S-Bahn, U-Bahn, and bus networks, connecting the driver and control center experience into one continuous incident-response loop.
